Tamara Wasylenky

Tamara began practicing yoga in her basement as a teenager with DVDs by Rodney Yee and Shiva Rea. She gradually came to love the calm, open nature of the practice. Over the course of her life, yoga has, at times, been consistently present and at others been in the background, but inevitably Tamara has always returned to it. The funny thing about yoga is that it tends to show up at just the right time and in the most unlikely of places.

A perpetual student with a great love of learning, Tamara approaches her ongoing practice of yoga with authenticity, humility and gratitude. She particularly loves to explore the traditions of Indian philosophy and their connection to yoga as much more than a physical practice, but as a lifelong commitment and spiritual exploration.

Tamara completed a 200-hour YTT at Be Yoga and Wellness in Burlington, ON and an Advanced 300-hour YTT with Alex Bovkis of Shanti Yoga Studio in Hamilton, ON. She also has training in Restorative and SUP Yoga and is registered with Yoga Alliance. Her teaching experience includes private, studio, post-secondary and corporate environments.

Yoga is a practice of the heart. A life lead with an open heart and an emphasis on compassion, softness and self-awareness creates space for change. Real change starts within.
